BCA celebrates its XIII Anniversary
BCA's History
Cape Verde's Bank history goes back to the year 1865 with the creation, in Cape Verde, of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino's first filial - Praia's Agency - followed by São Vicente and Sal Agenciesm, today part of BCA patrimony
In 1975, with the advent of Cape Verde independence, in September of the same year, was created the Central Bank of Cape Verde, (BCV) which functioned as a central and commercial bank, exclusively with public capital.
On September 1st 1993, BCA is created, by splitting the commercial and investment functions, once carried out by BCV, beginning a new era for Cape Verde Banking System.
BCA has a solid organizational structure, with a well implanted agencies network, covering the whole national territory, with 25 agencies, two of which working exclusively with companies, and owns almost 50% of ATMs available in Cape Verde.
Since the beginning, BCA has aimed to serve its customers better and better. This posture is revealed through the introduction of new Technologies, namely by increasing the distribution channels, Electronic Banking (ATMs), Internet banking, by creating a Site, among other things, which proves a continuous interest to improve the services and products efficiency and quality, to respond with more efficacy to its customers financial needs
The agreements sighed with correspondent banks, in several countries, the use of modern communication systems, allows customers, specially non residents, to order money transfer services, to any part of Cape Verde, fast and safely and at very low cost.
The BCA relation with an international well known Financial Group, lead by Caixa Geral de Depósitos, is assumed as a challenge and an added value. This relation will allow BCA to consolidate its national market leadership and projection at international level.
